Extracurricular Activities

Environmental Awareness

‘The Bandivali Vidya Mandir Trust’ is also sensitive towards sustainability of the nature and also believes in that future of our nation as well as the world lies in the hands of our young generation and with right guidance may make a great difference in the world. Hence, we organise various programs based on the ‘Nature Sustainability’ throughout the year such as the ‘Environmental Rally, ‘Education on Harmful Effects of Use of Plastic’ etc. to create sensitivity towards nature among students as well as their parents.

Tree plantation in School and Home Premises

In addition to the above initiative the ‘Bandivali Vidya Mandir Trust’ organises a ‘Tree Plantation Program’ every year, not only within the school premises but also in the surrounding area of the school. We do emphasize on celebrating ‘The World Environment Day’, ‘The Earth Day’ etc. so students learn to value the green in our environment.

Health Camps

The ‘Bandivali Vidya Mandir Trust’ values health of the students to the core as the health plays a vital role in our life and is a foundation of being successful in all aspects of the life. Therefore, we organise health check-up camps for our students. Parents and guardians are guided by doctors so they can take well care of the children.

Sports And Extra-Curricular Activities

The ‘Bandivali Vidya Mandir Trust’ organises many outdoor and indoor games such as, Racing, Kabbadi, Long-jump, Chess etc. res. for the mental as well as the physical development of our students. In addition to this the ‘Annual Sports Day’ is organised by the trust every year. With recognising the importance of self defense in today’s world especially for the girls we also teach our students Karate etc.

Initiatives for Overall Development of the Students

‘The World Health Organization’ (W.H.O.) states that ‘Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely absence of a disease’. Hence, we focus on our students psychological needs as well and for which our teaching staff counsels students time to time to help them to deal with the educational as well as emotional issues. We also keenly teach them mental exercises like Yoga, Pranayam, Meditation etc. to enhance their mental health along with the physical health which will ultimately lead to the good social health and wellbeing.

Amusement and Recreation

We take our students to short tours to places such as amusement parks, nature’s hub, butterfly parks and historical places and to relieve their stress as we understand the importance of recreation.

We also organise a picnic for our students once in a year so that they can rejoice and enjoy to the fullest. 

Various Fun Contents

  • We organize quizzes & various competitions.
  • We celebrate ‘Ambedkar Jayanti’, ‘The World Environment Day’, ‘The Children’s Day’.
  • We organize camps and workshops to cultivate good habits and develop social responsibility in students eg. ‘visit to Adivasi Ashram School’,
  • We organize science exhibition every year.
  • Our schools participates in the interschool science exhibition every year and our students participate actively. 
  • We conduct Computer Literacy Programs for our students as well as the teachers.

National Days and Festivals Celebration

We take a special interest in celebrating our National Days as well as various days of the historical importance such as ‘ The Independence Day’ (15th August), ‘The Republic Day’ (26th January), ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ (2nd October),  ‘Maharashtra Din’(1st May), ‘Lokmannya Tilak Punyateethi’ (1st August) etc. so that the students learn to value the historical events. 

Apart from this we also celebrate a few important festivals such as ‘Guru Pournima’, ‘Naag Panchami’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Deep Amavasya’ etc. in order to make the students understand importance and role of the festivals in our life and so the heritage of our festivals stays alive.

Annual Day Programme And Other Cultural Events

Our family is the utmost important part of our life and we want our students to understand the importance of the family in their life and value their parents, siblings and other family members and grow as a sensitive and responsible human being. Hence, we encourage them to celebrate ‘The Annual Day’, ‘The Foundation Day’ also we do celebrate some special days such as ‘The Mother’s Day’, ‘The Grandparent’s Day’ etc. to strengthen the bond between students and their family members.

Other cultural events such as the Drawing Competition, Handwriting and/or Paragraph Writing Competition, ‘Speech Competition’ etc. are also held during the year in the memory of our founder ‘Late Shri Vasant Vinayak Dewoolkar’, to cultivate healthy competition in students.

National Health Programs At School

 

The trust has also incorporated the ‘Mid-day Meal Program’ as an important initiative for the wellbeing of the school students which is a ‘National Health Program’ run by the ‘Government of India’ to provide nutritious supplementary food to the school children.

The Cultural Events and Intra-School Competitions

As an integrated and the foremost important aspect of our life we want our students to understand the importance of the family and learn to value family relations e.g. parents, siblings and other family members as well and grow as a sensitive and responsible human being. Hence, we fondly celebrate ‘The Annual Day’, ‘The Foundation Day’ etc. and highly encourage our students to participate in those to the fullest. Along with it, we also do not forget to celebrate some very special and important days such as ‘The Mother’s Day’, ‘The Grandparent’s Get-together (founded by the ‘Bandivali Vidya Mandir Trust’)’ etc. to strengthen a bond between the students and their family members.
